Members Bearstripes
So I really want a tape echo. I've done my research but most the stuff I've come up with is 200 plus. I'm looking for something that sounds similar to the tape on the dd20 with the long washed out trails and whatnot but with a way smaller footprint. Looking to spend a hundred fifty max new or used. Any thoughts
Members jimash
Sometimes you can find one of these cheap. I have had a couple, they are neato.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wem-Copycat-Watkins-Copicat-mark-IV-Tape-Echo-tape-effect-machine-/121096335661?pt=UK_Guitar_Accessories&hash=item1c31e7712dDistributed in the US by Guild. Members ArcherArcher
I assume you're meaning a tape echo sim. I would look for a used Line 6 Echo Park (or the Behringer clone if you don't care about it being plastic). The tape mode sounds sweet and the modulation on it makes tape slippage and flutter sounds. Real cool.
Members ArcherArcher
Or if you can find a used RE-20, go for that.I'm a moron. Forgot you said smaller than the DD-20...

Much better character to it than DL-4's tape.

You're more likely to run into the Space Echo and various versions of the Echoplex... and you'll rarely find any of them for $150 or less anymore. More's the pity.
