    If one of the mics were out of phase would there be a "Through-Zero" effect?

      If they were both moving you'd probably have a through zero effect.

      Actually, for TZF you'd want to stationary mic backed off the grill by a foot or so, then have the moving mic move from 'twice the stationary distance'  to right-upto-the-grill'. You can play with the phase-inversion stuff that the pre-amp if you want to go from additive to subtractive phasing.
