Phil O'Keefe
We've all done it at some point or another - we thought the song said one thing, only to find out later that it said something completely different. Oops. Tell me about some of your misheard lyrics.

That's a new one. That one was plain English compared to the others like Born On The Bayou and Green River. Almost invented death metal mumblin' and moanin' along. Members ermghoti II
Not a very good one, but I always thought the "treating people just like pawns at chess" in War Pigs was "treating people just like poker chips." It's not all that far removed.
Members ermghoti II
Oh, a better one, that crappy Candlebox or whatever song that yarls "left me far behind" just ahead of the chorus, I misheard as "loved me from behind." I knew that couldn't be right, but it fit my opinion of the music well enough, so I left it be.
Members justhearforther
I just had one of these moment 5 minutes ago. Apparently the line in the Killers song Bling is "shut, poor and tired, but more than this". I thought it was "shut up, you're entitled to more than this". Whoops. Members wschart
I suspect that many here are far to young to know, but they king (pun fully intended) of all misheard lyrics was the Kingsmen's version of "Louie Louie" from the 1960. There were several versions of what the lyrics were, none correct, and all rather obscene, at least for the time. The FBI actually investigated this, following a complaint. They submitted the recording to all their technologies, and couldn't come to any conclusion. There is a 160 or so page file which has been released on FOIA. You can probably find it online, try the louienet for a start.

Members Lou Speed's Alt
I think part of this is "she's into all not well, oh, all not well". But I always hear it as, "she's in a walnut well, a walnut well".
