Members Mikeo
are they similar or is there a major amount of difference? or is there so much difference the only thing that is similar is the name Peavey? btw, I LOVE my xxl, it is a powerful amphead with a lot of diversity! Since I know not that much about Peavey products, I looked it up for you. The Peavey XXX amp are 100 tube amps and utilizes four 12AX7 preamp tubes and four 6L6GC power amp tubes. Power amp section can be converted to use four EL34 tubes. The XXX head delivers an earth-quaking 120 watts of pure tube power controlled by a master volume pot and independent volume knobs for each of its three channels. The Peavey XXL 100W Guitar Amp Head delivers 100W of innovative TransTube power into 4, 8, or 16 ohms (selectable impedance). The result is a monster of an amplifier capable of accurately reproducing tons of the hottest tube amp tones imaginable. Master volume controls, 3 fully independent channels with separate volume, gain voicing switches, and 3-band, 3-position EQ. Ultra channel utilizes active EQ while clean and lead use passive EQ. On that note. there's no tubes in a Transtube amp.
