Members enerener15
Hey Guys! I'm thinking about buying one of the new Boss Katana Amp Models. I really like the power switch option and the installed pedals are a nice feature as well. Has any of you made some experience with it? On youtube it seems that most of the reviewers really like it. Members WRGKMC
I'd want to hear how it sounds first. Boss is ok building pedals. Some of their other pieces of gear are budget versions of the Rolland line.I'd buy one of those Marshall code amps given they're the same price. https://marshallamps.com/products/am.../code/code-50/ Marshall makes some of the best SS gear. The Code amps have 14 preamps, 4 power amps, and 8 speaker cab emulations. The boss allows two presets or 3 effects at a time. That's highly limiting. Marshall has 100 presets and 24 digital effects. You can run 5 effects at once, only 3 on the Boss. It even run it off your cell phones with blue tooth connectivity.
Members enerener15
Thanks for your advice. But i've read a lot of negative comments about the new code amps of Marshall.. Also the Katana is the new amp line from Roland since they do not produce the cube any more. So I guess they do not produce it as a budget line. I've also read some good things about the new Blackstar ID Series. (http://www.e-gitarren-profi.com/produkte/blackstar-id30/) Maybe that would be a good shout as well? Or the Fender Mustang which really enjoys many good reviews. (https://www.thomann.de/de/fender_mustang_iii_v_2.htm) Maybe I should take some money to visit a store. Unfortunately there are none in my area.. So I hope I can get some more voices to these amps and advices here. My Budget also doesn's allow to go for more than 300 -400 €. Sorry for the german sites. (I'm german:D) These are the ones I'm looking at right now. But the pictures should do enough to tell you about which models I'm speaking. There are just too much possibilities to take into consideration.. Maybe someone else has made some experience with a nice amp in my budget? Members WRGKMC
You need to qualify the comments. Some may have occurred before the firmware updates. The amp is on par with a Mustang III or Vox VT100X at this point. Line 6 has been doing the amp modeling a bit longer so they are a bit ahead on things like downloadable preset sharing. My buddy uses Line 6 and gets some amazing sounds from those amps. They tend to be more modern sounding to me. That's fine if its what you're looking for. Line 6 nails metal tones if that's what you want.
