Are lyrics like that meant to be taken seriously in the first place? I don't think so. It's creative writing, so take it for what it is. To me, Slayer is all about the riffs, not the leads. I think Slayer is horrible at leads. They just sound like a bunch of random notes played for the sake of sounding demonic. I'll pass. (I mean that in a good way, not a bad way)For me, Reign in Blood is the best thrash metal album ever made! 30 minutes of pure adrenaline! Keep in mind that I do not consider most of Metallica to be thrash metal, at least not in the same veign as Slayer. For pure riffs, and vocal yelling, in your face metal, it is definitely a classic. My personal favorite slayer album is hell awaits. The riffs are killer! their heaviest has to be haunting the chapel. I am not too much of a fan of their newer stuff. This is probably due to the fact that I didn't give it time.
