Members Pigsinzen
I ordered this mod from http://www.monteallums.com/ hoping it would make my CS3 a bit more quiet, and less "squashy coloring" Other than this, I loved the pedal. After installing these parts, and testing it, I was not disappointed. Even at the highest settings the pedal wasn't "buzzing" The pedal didn't color my sound now. And it only did what I wanted and bought it for. To even out the sound, and add a tiny bit of sustain without ADDING any over-drive or distortion. All I got to say is Not saying it's the BEST compressor (I have yet to use them all) It does what I want it to now, without the noise. And that is well worth the $21 I spent. Considering I originally payed $30 for the pedal used I got a deal. $51 for a boutique sounding compressor. I really wish Boss would stop using crappy parts. It's not the circuit design that makes em noisy. But the crap parts.
Members Pigsinzen
Here is a pic of the final product I should have taken a before. I am thinking about special ordering some larger value tantalum caps and replacing those electrolytic left on the board. And maybe replacing the low value ceramic caps. Members Burningleaves
Hmmm...my MIJ cs-3 is very transparent without much squash at all. Sometimes I am wanting more squash actually.

Sometimes I am wanting more squash actually. Hmm not sure if it squashes LESS, or that it just doesn't suck the tone as much. I liked my CS-3 before as well. But I noticed it did cut off some of the "sparkle" in my sound that was there when it was off. This began to bother me. I blame my OCD. But this mod fixed that. If you love you CS-3 now, you'd love it even more with this mod. I promise. BTW only 2 cap values are changed. A few silicon diodes changed to better ones. Just basically part upgrades. I've been using Boss Compressors since the 80s. Now, I could never go back to a un-modded one. I even email said mod seller some questions I had about the other parts. He replied very promptly and answered all my questions.

Members Monte Allums
Hi Guys, while I'm glad the mod is working for you I would ask that you please do not post pics of a modded pedal on the forums. I sell the instructions for those that want them. Please have the admin remove the pic. Thanx, Monte

Members Monte Allums
Hi, Thanx for the pic removal. I usually don't participate a lot for fear of forum members accusing me of spamming. I really, to be honest, have limited time also. I get so much e-mail it's tough to stay on top of it. Thanx, Monte
