  • who else used/uses the mark III besides Metallica?

this amp is looking pretty interesting (the combination of generally great reviews, and the reasonable price)

and what cab/speaker combo does it go well with (recommend the cheapest possible while still retaining quality. If you recommend a cab from Framus or Splawn, etc, I'll nicely ask you to leave the thread)

I don't think they ever have used the MarkIII. They've definitely used the MarkIIC+, MarkIV, Studio Preamp, Quad Preamp, TriAxis Preamp, Strategy 400 Poweramp, Dual Rectifier, Triple Rectifier, and now own a Roadster.

I know that Body Count used the MarkIII.

    Whitesnake too possibly.

I used a Mesa Recto cab with V30 when I had mine and it sounded awesome!

You could also look into an Avatar cab.

Dude, the general consensus is that the amp kicks almighty ass. Just grow a pair of balls and buy one.

I believe they used them live. I remember seeing pictures of their live rigs and seeing Coliseum heads.

I'm not sure I've ever seen them using them either, but I might be wrong. Sykes and El Hefe are all I know of.

The Mark series aren't really that widely used, almost inexplicably.

Well they did use a Quad, and channel 2 is suppose to be a mark III.
Cannel one is close to a II+C.I am not sure which channels they actually used. All they say is they used a "Quad".

Al Demiola used them for some time, Holdsworth did as well, but hell, he's used just about everything! I used the coliseum MkIII version(my first endersement amp) for several years, loudest amp on the planet at one time.
