Members tnourse
I've had my Blackmore for a couple of years now and I love it! I've had quite a few other amps, but the Blackmore is here to stay. Makes me grin, every time I plug in! :thu:
Members Occam
I guess you need a lot of gain when you plug your lute into it.

Members Rich
If you like pure buzz, that's probably the amp for you! It was buzzy and compressed sounding.
Members antareus
Ugh, he has the presence at 3:00. I can't stand it anywhere past 9:00, it makes it sound really harsh. His lead volume is also really low for my taste.
Members PurityS.L.G.
Well of course it sounded buzzy. Look at the EQ pedal, the last slider is the Gain slider and it's dimed. What a n00b.
Members bluesymetal
Dude I LOVE my blackmore..... But I would NEVER run it with those settings.. The Gain and presence are both way to high, and I dont think the mxr was helping matters.... There are way better tones in that head. But to each their own I guess. I'm pretty sure that buzz would get burried in the mix as well.

Members bluesymetal
Yeah man I honestly don't think it's a honeymoon thing either. I really want to base my sound around this amp. How's the QR?

Don't need the extra EQ, the gain is way too high and the Pres is too high. I've never though of the Blackmore as a buzzy amp. For as simple as the Blackmore is, there are plenty of good tones in it. But like you said, to each their own....

Members SweepLegatto
So what eq are you guys using with the blackmore?
Members PurityS.L.G.
IF I were to use an EQ with the Blackmore, it would be the MXR-108...except I wouldn't dime the gain and High freq. sliders like that n00b did.
Members bluesymetal
So what eq are you guys using with the blackmore? I dont have the amp right in front of me but it's something like this:all in oclockClean around 1Bright inLead Gain little under 2Bass 2Mid 1Treb a little over 11Pres a little over 9Lead vol around 130Master around 8-10 depending on how loud the band is.The contour adds some volume and low mids for solos, sometimes I'll kick on my maxon 808 instead though for a little more uppy mid feel, depending on the lead I'm playing. I think that sounds good on all the channels. It's still a tad bright with my PRS CE24 for my tastes, but I'm gonna swap out the pups for some Bareknuckles to balance that out.
