Members GodBlessTexas
The neck plate says Made In Japan, so I'd say not. Lawsuit guitar?
Members VoodooChild24
Hetfield's original flying V has never been a Gibby, It's a lawsuit copy.
Members Angry Grimace
The neck plate says Made In Japan, so I'd say not. Lawsuit guitar? Last I heard it was an Epi or similar. James Hetfield may be a huge larger-than-life rock star...but it's time for him to keep his shirt on. Forward that memo to Edward Van Halen too. He's never really said much about where he got it either. Probably from a random ass guitar shop. I doubt it's "origin story" is interesting. There's a billion bolt-on Asian Gibson copies from teh 70s STILL floating around out there.
Members starsnuffer
Gibson is going to make 100 relic'd copies and sell them for $35,000 a piece. Or whatever else fender does first just at twice the price. -W

Members thinkpad20
{censored}, every time I see an original V I want one SO bad. They're just the perfect thrash guitar looks-wise. (even though I'm aware that's not a Gibson V... but the looks stand the same.)

Agreed as well, and to think alot of players now are paying outrageous money to "relic" their guitars. Just play the damn thing everyday.

I'm not a fanboy by any means, but for some reason, even though he's a dick and he hasn't written a good song (IMO) in about 20 years, there's still a part of me that sees him as a god... especially in old 80's pics during the Alcoholica years.
