The abrupt ending was what made the film so good imo. Who says a film has to tie all the ends together?

And this scene, jesus, just perfect imo.

EDIT: actually I can think of 3 films that compare. Amelie, Pans Labrynth and Garden State. After that your looking at 1994 for a perfect film.

It's not even the best film from the last year for me, I preferred There will be blood.

I also loved that but it dragged on and on for nearly 3 hours and didnt contain anything that REALLY wowed me. good film though. Dare I say it I think I preferred 3:10 to Yuma over There Will Be Blood.

{censored} off. O brother pwns no country.

there's lots of movies that were better than those, too...what about "ray" and "walk the line"? this is just off the top of my head, too.

oh yeah....charlie and the chocolate factory, n00b.

Films better than NCFOM from the last 10 years:
(in no particular order)

Titus
Children of Men
Mystic River
The Royal Tenenbaums

I'd even go so far as to say The Matrix if only because of the impact it has had on movie making since its release
