  • Low wattage tube amp with effects loop and master volume?

I'm looking for a new bedroom amp with an effects loop and a master volume control. I'm planning to test out the Blackstar HT-5 and the Cornford Carrera (if the cornford dealer near me has one in stock). Obviously the two are in vastly different price ranges so I'm praying I'll end up liking the Blackstar more. Has anyone compared these two and are there any others I should consider? I'm open to any price range.

I have a Koch Studiotone 20 combo, great amp :thu

Quite loud though. Can be easy too loud, depends how quiet You want to play.

Look also at Laneys: VC-15 and LC-15R.
I am not sure whether LC-15R has a fx loop.

My ultimate quiet bedroom amp? Microcube

Two channels, fx loop... class a el84. Gain/ Master on Ch2.
        INcredible tone- look at reviews.

I have this amp in 20 watt head version. Way too loud for a ' bedroom '.
        L5 costs +/- $ 900 new, but, there's 2 on ebay right now.

You might want to try an Egnater Rebel. Effects loop, master volume, and watt control.

Hayden Mofo - it's got an attenuator switch, so in the "quiet" mode it goes to about 2-3 watts.

If you are interested in a Carrera, check my posts...I have a mint one up for sale. It will save you a bundle of cash over the cost of a new one.

              thanks,

i've the 5watt version but for bedroom playing i've just bought a fender super champ xd. IMHO the lionheart is too loud for apartement playing.

I'm looking for the same thing, I'm looking in the 30 watt range, because there's no headroom for the most part below that

Great sounding amp. Expensive though, around $1000 for a 3.6 watt 1x10 tube amp

When does the new Rebel come out? That is the one that I am really interested in trying out. 6L6's and EL34's. It has the wattage control too right?

Serious? Even a Deluxe is way too clean for me at stage volumes. Do you play metal or something?
