  • What tubes are in a jmp 50w mk2 lead head

What are the tubes in a Marshall JMP master model 50w MK2 lead head?

Three 12AX7 pre-amp tubes.........for power tubes they either have two EL-34's or two 6550's.

It's important to have a service tech "bias" the power tubes properly, you can't just swap them out.
I endorse Laura & Valve Queen tubes, you should too.Marshall, Gibson, Fender, Charvel/Jackson."I'm happy to pay my tech $40 bucks to take the Zap for me."One kick-butt deal with johnpace2 Dave Friedman of RACKSYSTEMS is a genius. After the Firebird X, i'm quite convinced Henry Juszkiewicz is crazy.Member of the JMP Hall of Fame.

But you can swap them out with no problem as long as your tech rebias' them?

That's correct, there might also be a need to add or remove resistors when switching from EL34's to 6550's and vice versa. Don't quote me on that though, I've only read about that mod. You can also try and DIY (do it yourself), if you're up to the task, with a multimeter or weber bias rite.
