Members firejack018
As promised, here's the clips of the Vintage 30's, Greenbacks and G12K100's. We played very loud, so there's no string noise to be heard. No FX or boosts, just guitar straight into amp. Please be aware that Cron's parts Telecaster hasn't had the wiring grounded, so there's a lot of background hum on the Tele clips. And on some of the clips, the sound is a bit weird due to us tweaking the amp whilst playing and moving around near the mic. Due to time restrictions, we only got limited clips of the PRS SE Korina. I only played on one of the clips with my Korina, everything else is Cron tearing it up. I was happy just to operate the recording gear and listen, as Cron is one hell of a player. Cabs were: - Mesa 4x12 with V30's - Mesa Oversize 4x12 with V30's - Marshall 1960 4x12 with Greenbacks - Marshall MG 4x12 with G12K100's Guitars were: - Cron's parts Telecaster loaded with Duncan Custom bridge and Duncan P-Rails neck. - My own PRS SE Korina with BG HellaRail bridge and BG Custom 12k neck. Here's the high-gain clips first... Members Sheik_Yerbouti
Trust you to be the first to notice that. Kinda hard to give you an honest assessment, really. I'd like to hear clips of all the different cabs with the PRS, and the Greenbacks clip was hard to judge because of the mic being moved around a bunch during the clip. What little I could tell confirms my own experience with greenies vs. V30s, though. Greenbacks are just warmer, fuller-sounding speakers to me, and always have been. I just had a listen on some good speakers, and noticed the clips are on the boomy side. In the room everything sounded much clearer. Have to try again next time. Makes me wonder how some G12H30 speakers would sound with that amp?Cole I got some clips of my cabs with the V30 x G12H30 mix (not on their own), but I haven't had time to edit them as yet.I was going to post them along with video footage another time. They kept up with the 4x12's and had some nice growl, but I preferred the Marshall Greenback cab and the Mesa Oversize V30 cab. Those Greenbacks just sounded perfect to me for both clean and high-gain. Cheers Cole.

What pickups does he have in that tele? Haha same here. The Tele is something Cron is putting together himself. It's got a Duncan Custom in the bridge, and a Duncan P-Rails in the neck. Sounded great.

With the wife and baby in the car, I just miss out on being able to fit all my gear in by inches. Just need a Gryphon in a slightly smaller head. Members firejack018
dude teh greenbacks I hear you man! Sounded rich, thick and chunky. Perfect mid-range growl and nice tight bottom with just the right amount of sag. And the cleans were so sweet too. Wish we had time to get more clippage of the Greenbacks. Members firejack018
So do you still preffer 2 2X12's over a 4X12 ? Absolutely.I feel my 2x12 cabs hung with the 4x12's easily.I'd just love to try all Greenbacks in them. The only cab that seemed to have something extra in terms of depth was the Mesa Oversize 4x12.That cab sounded bigger than all the others. Members NinjaRaf
Damn man, I wish there was a possibility of me buying that amp from you lol. Every one of those clips was killer!! I think the mesa OS is on top for me, followed by the MG. I bet k100s in the mesa OS would absolutely {censored} worlds up man!! Ive tried V30s and k100s in the same cab, and preferred k100s by far.
