Members Holy-diver
My friend is looking for a new amp. Styles that are most important are "a fat bluesy tone, jazz, and also classic rock and rockabilly"Feel free too recommend anything, but a decent price range would be cool. He wants to upgrade his fender, its some sea green fender tube amp, its like 40 or 60 watts, idk what model, not a hr.
Members Les Paul Lover
Mmh.... Vox AC15/30?Orange AD30/Rockerverb? All of these amps have enough warmth to do the Jazz thing too.
Members Holy-diver
He really likes santana too. Ill definitely let on about the vox, I was going to add mesa mark I or ii, maybe a lonestar, classic 30, but I am hardly the authority on the subject of blues. Members Les Paul Lover
If he loves Santana, I'd recommend the rockerverb then. Played low on the clean channel, just before the break up, he'll get lovely jazz tones. And it's a beautiful blues amp and does all sorts of rock. And loads of gain for syrupy leads. Lovely roganic tone.
Members juri
What does he not like about his current amp? I think Blues Jr, Peavey Delta Blues, etc... might be of his interest as well...Jazz is normally played on super clean amps while Blues usually requires some nice warm tones with sometimes a little dirt as well. That being said if he wants to upgrade his 40 - 60 Watt tube amp, the Blues Jr. or the Delta might be considered a downgrade. I would really like to know what he's playing right now. Members Holy-diver
His amp now has decent cleans but they're too dark. The od on the other hand is horrid, the overall tone isn't the greatest. So vox acRockerverbHrdBj (lol)Mark i/iiC30
Members guitarcapo
Blackface Fender. Pick your wattage from a Princeton Reverb up to a Twin. Personally I don't think a Deluxe Reverb can be beaten
