The one that gets me is a two-word phrase: "very unique."

Look, "unique" means "one of a kind" (check the Latin root!). You're either "one of a kind," OR YOU'RE NOT!

There are NOT degrees of "uniqueness," any more than you can be "a little bit pregnant," or "mostly dead." :freak:

Technically. My Boss interjects this into anything she can to make the statement less than it should be...

 

"Technically we are not supposed to be jumping off the roof..."

 

It's because she refuses to lay down a black and white statement for some stupid reason.

Most of the words/phrases I can't stand are the ones my mother-in-law uses all the time... such as, oh crumb, I really wanted to talk to you and not a machine, lets put a date on the calendar and this got really good didn't it... All of those phrases read in succession tell the story of us being invited over for dinner constantly.
