Guest Guest
For all You rippin' at home... Is it better to krank it and run through Palmer or capture it silent with a SM57 ? Palmer set on Deep & normal - described as "british 4x12" for me it sounds more like a small cab with a Vintage 30 inside...Marshall 1936 on G12-75t... BTW I love those... Laney GH50L settings: Palmer - Deep & normal - amp master volume on 7,SM57 - Marshall 1936, Celestion G12-75T - amp master volume on 1, Resonance On,Presence 3.5Bas 6.5, Mid 4, Treble 5.5,,Gain Max, Drive 4, [video=youtube;lacvOs_2sxw]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lacvOs_2sxw
Members Aibric
I would go for miking it still. After some EQ, maybe some multi tracking I think the real miked sound will be much better when the mix is done. The Palmer's speaker sim has not exactly aged well. Members 80sShred4TheWin
Thank you for the comparison, I am actually looking at a palmer pga-04 right now. So far everything I have heard sounds fantastic.

I used to have PGA-04, it's more tweakable & a bit more modern sounding comapring to PDI-03.
