  • Good political hip hop/rap?

So, been listening to loads of Immortal Technique recently. A latino rapper who, I think, has great lyrics - lots of social/political commentary as opposed to bitches, cognac and guns.

So, if I like this, what else will I like?
Have a listen and like my rock/stoner/thrash band Longhorn on Facebook

Can't listen to the song you posted at the moment, but here are some suggestions anyway.

    Public Enemy
    The Roots
    Mos Def
    Talib Kweli
Black Star (Talib Kweli and Mos Def)
Some of the Wu Tang stuff and the members' various side projects/solo albums, especially those with the Genius/GZA
I haven't heard all of his stuff, but Lupe Fiasco definitely has some good chit

Huge IT fan here. You really need to check out Paris, TKASH and anything else on Guerrilla Funk records. Give me a minute and I'll dig up some vids. The Hard Truth Soldier comps would be a great place to start.

I used to be really into ImmoTech, sorta got sick of the conspiracy talk though and kinda faded from listening.
Sage Francis is hands down my personal fave hip hop artist, he's political sometimes but approaches topics more like a whole person than specifically just politics.

Also check out Brother Ali or any of the Rhymesayers artists.

Some others you might dig would be Jedi Mind Tricks and maybe Dead Prez.
