I have a pretty strong aversion to 80s metal. That said, I own every Extreme album, so yeah, you're missin out.

Yes. When you hear the {censored} he's playing, and how easy he makes it sound...just unreal.

Yeah it is. When I get the guitar that I'm going to get soon, I've already decided that I'm going to the woodshed, re-commit myself to becoming a much better player. I love the Pornograffitti record, and have always wanted to play the tunes on it. So...going to woodshed that record. My fingers haven't even started on it yet, and they have already pre-emptively informed me that I suck. Learning his solos...Jesus Christ. Can't do Bumblebee, don't have a delay. But that GTFO solo...Christ, dude. I'm already getting frustrated just thinking about what that will do to my hands. icon_lol.gif

our ex-lead guitard was a total noodler and refused to help write for the genre/style we were going for and was always faptastic about Nuno so it was even more of a reason not to listen so i couldn't encourage his behavior icon_lol.gif

however upon advice, i'm starting to listen

As a fellow bro, I would suggest III Sides To Every Story, as I am unsure if you liked the 80's shreddy glam rock. If you do, start from the beginning then bro. thumb.gif

Tbqh, I am not a fan of Nuno's tone, but the Queen-influenced songs and his rhythms/leads are a great combo which makes Extreme unique and totally underappreciated.

Extreme wasnt a 80s glam band, thats a simplistic dopey description

The 1st album came out in 1989 and they really made it mainstream/more commercial in the 1990s. They were infleunced by bands like Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, and Queen, and other acts with some harmonies and instrumentals, they were and are a very tight band

Go listen to 3 sides, Pornografitti, Waiting for Punchline, and even the last CD was solid, the debut CD is kinda glammy in *spots* but still a good CD, but Nunos guitar playing is worth the price of ANY CD they made

That's why I put the word "shreddy" beside "80's glam". I mean, there's Little Girls and then there's the debut album:

Mutha still kicks ass, especially that intro solo Nuno's doing. Totally_jammin_out.gif
