Members metalaxe
another NAD for me....Laboga Mr. Hector. I didn't love the amp the first time I tried/recorded it a couple of years ago...I'm kinda liking it now, still have a minor complaint (same as last time), but it's not a bad amp at all... compared to my RevF Recto it has much more gain and sounds much darker, the low mid range is also more wooly though (that's what was my main complaint back than as well, the stuffy low mids).... anyways, here's a little comparison (sorry, no yt video for that, hope I'll find the time to do that at some point though).RevF 2ch Recto Settings (all o'clock) Volume: 9:15 Presence: 8:45 Bass: 12:00 Mid: 9:20 Treb: 12:00 Gain: 2:30Mr. Hector Settings (all o'clock) Master:11:00 Volume: 1:00 Bass: 12:00 Mid: 9:20 Treb: 1:00 Gain: 12:30 bright switch: engaged both amps were boosted with an od808. Members necropsy
Sounds good but I'm liking the Recto a lot better in that mix m/
Members AdrianPOA
I think they both sound pretty good. I couldn't really tell that much of a difference.

Members Chrisjd
both sound badass, but i think the recto sounds slightly better... Rectos usually record really nicely. Damn you run your mids low.
Members metalaxe
Yeah, but using mid heavy pickups, boosting the mids with a tube screamer, using the mid heavy sm57, mid heavy v30 speakers etc guarantees enough mids. I'm not a fan of too scooped sounds myself
Members Menthal
Nice comparison. To me the recto sounds less muddy, it has more mid "presence".
Members hcprimerib
yup, I've had both. the recto > laboga

Members bluffalo
I liked the recto. they do both sound similar though
Members magh8
hector sounded like it just needed a bit more attack. amp needs a presence. OP were you and to get any usable tomes using the "mid shift" that's where I failed
Members metalaxe
The mid shift is only usable for those cheap disto pedal like black metal tones IMO...but for that its pretty cool. I agree, it's lacking a presence pot....Ethan's I'll put one in at some point

Members NinjaRaf
Nice. They both sound great. I think the recto has more clarity and a tighter low end, which I dig. I think it sounds better overall, but the laboga sounds great too. I like the slightly softer attack in the sound of the laboga, but Im not sure how Id like the feel of it in the room. Members Mesa/Kramer
The Recto seems to have a little more teeth too it. Sticks out and cuts through more.
