The closest I've ever gotten to this would be the NOLA sludge (Acid Bath, Soilent Green, Graveyard Rodeo, Down), etc.

They sound like that + TypeOSabbath. love.gif

I know, right? It's like we've been talking about how much we love the 1995 film Heat...only to find out that Heat is the only Al Pacino movie Loop has ever seen.

I've just gotten into this stuff in the last year or so. There's such a large variety within this genre, that you can almost always
find something you'll like. Sme of my favorites;

Red Fang - more on the rock side of things
Om - more on the riff based, slow heavy stuff
Old Man Gloom- some experimental, some rockin, some slow and and heavy
Elder- more on the rock side of things
Morne- heavier meatsl type stuff
Black Pyramid- straight up heavy old school stuff
Sea Of Bones- minimal, heavy and loud

The last four I listed are local bands (from the Boston area and Sea of Bones are or from CT)

There's so much good stuff in this genre, especially if you aren't afraid of some really minimalitic,, sparse type stuff.
