  • Decent comparison of pickups

I thought this was a really good comparison. I really like the 498T. I actually think the SD Custom has that "blanket over the amp" kind of sound.

Strangely, i thought the Gibson stuff sounded great! The Schecter sounded awful, and i hated that AT-1. Its odd, though, that is NOTHING like what my Custom sounds like!

Although it is cool he took the time to do this, the results would be different through a different guitar and you HAVE to tweak the "amp" every time anyway...Still it is nice to see the AMT reacting to different pickups.

But his playing on the "high" gain offspring riff can't exactly showcase them. I liked how he played the rock stuff though!!!
"is this tone obtainable using the HD500 or Axe Fx? Overall, for convenience and volume control, should I buy the Axe Fx over actual tube amps? I don't plan on playing loud; just playing at home and recording on my Mac. Thanks man, you are awesome!

        short answer: no...

        long answer: no way..."

I thought everything sounded muddy except the 498T.
