Members AdrianPOA
As some of you may know, I recently bought a 5 string bass for recording. I figured I would just mirror my guitar parts and play with a pick, but I have been having a lot of fun just goofing on it that I should make a solid attempt at getting some fingerstyle chops down. Besides, I can't think of a single bassist whom I absolutely love that plays with a pick. So, I bought Alex Webster from Cannibal Corpse's Extreme Metal Bass book the other day, since he {censored}ing rules and all. He's got a lot of exercises that are pretty similar to those that you find in guitar books that teach you how to improve your speed and hand synchronization. My fretting hand getting put through the wringer on the bass had made it much easier for me to do crazy non-linear stretches on the guitar. I know, I know , obvious post is obvious, but anything that helps make one a more well rounded musician is worth sharing.
