        i thought that initially and it seems like that's everybody's advice. But it was pretty damn easy changing that pickup and if had the connnecter on it to begin with it would have been instantaneous. What's the beef with the circuit board? I'll be the first one throwing it under the bus if it goes out but it seems fine.

          i thought that initially and it seems like that's everybody's advice.             not sure about those , but the older ones had craptastic wiring and the pot values were all over the place , still sounded good though so perhaps it doesn't mean anything ?

                                if you can solder a little it's no biggie but there are also drop in harnesses available with much of the work already done . You would also have to change the switch harness and jack .It's a good bit of work , is it needed , probably not , but if you get the urge to hotrod it'll be a fun project .
