Members reddt1
Apparently I just sent a donation to some dude I've never heard of. I already cancelled my credit card and froze my bank account. PayPal won't answer their goddamn phone right now ... Any of you ever have this happen? Members 3volved
I worked for PayPal for a few years, they have call centers all around the world. Trust me, they'll pick up.

Members reddt1
The "donation" was for $1,800.00. Got a hold of PayPal this morning. They cancelled the transaction for me. Have to hand it to them, they were pretty good about the whole thing. I don't think there's any such thing as online security anymore. What a pain. Members Seano Porno
Happened to me a while ago! Someone hacked into my paypal and sent two payments to someone in Canada. First one was $10, then the second one was a couple of days after and worked out to just under the entire contents of my bank account (give or take, due to the exchange rate). I called Paypal and they cancelled the payments and refunded it...but they refunded it to my Paypal account so I had to wait 7 days for it to transfer back into my bank. That was really {censored}! I still don't know how they managed to get the amount so close to what I actually had in the bank??? I called the bank and they had every log in I'd recently made itemised....there were no log ins that I hadn't made! Could have been a coincidence....but what are the odds?? Yeah, I realize now that they just allow the transaction to go through still, but credit the PayPal account for that amount. That's really stupid. Why can't they just cancel the transaction instead? If they refunded it to your Paypal account, does that mean they took a cut of the money when you transferred it back to your bank account?! Members Seano Porno
No they didn't take a cut, but it was the imconvenience of waiting to get my money back.
