Members The Anomaly
What a socialist. We need smaller government. Those people should pull themselves up by the bootstraps instead of depending on the government for their flood insurance claims. Discuss.

Members Stevetemp
anomoly...I did NOT know you were such a major league troll. WOW! But I bite, of course! I think infrastructure and services should get real help to get up and running. Government services of course, roads, cable, internet, fuel. Food to the stores. I am not sure that "everyone gets a check". We have daily disasters ALL the time! Lives and homes ruined. But..because they are isolated, and do not get national media attention...THEY fend for themselves. And maybe that is the way it should be? I realize that often local churches and groups are able to help these isolated incidents. And that Sandy was very widespread. I just think we need to consider this point. Sort of trolling I guess...waiting for someone to call me names..but hoping someone might civilly break it down.

Most of the people around here still haven't even gotten their insurance checks yet. The majority of people are "pulling themselves up by their bootstraps." I think most of this money is going to reimburse townships for the massive cleanup costs that they incurred. No one is gonna have a new sports car courtesy of Uncle Sam because of this bill. Those are the same people would be holding their hands out if they were victims of Sandy, and will be holding their hands out when the time comes to participate in Medicare and getting their SS checks.
