So: what would you say is the rarest amp out there today?

I would say it has to have been in at least limited production...

So no one offs. Anyone can build an amp and claim its one of a kind.

Although maybe the early VH4 in the Marshall headshell could qualify. I.e. it was a one off, but not really. (I'm not saying that IS the rarest, just giving an example). In fact I don't think it should be allowed.

What do you reckon?

Rare is like

EL84 Tremolux

White "Higher Fidelity"

Metal badge Marshalls

Jim Kelley FACS amps

Ampeg Supereverb/Superbreverb

"Artist" HiWatts

Of course, there's a whole bunch of rare amps nobody wants, like TUSC amps.

The rarest amp I think of is a SS Gallien Krueger head called the Backline 150, one of the best SS amps ever. I had one in the 90's, sold it and been looking for another for about 20 years. Btw, this has nothing to do with the cheap Backline bass line.

Been wondering about that for the longest time since I can only see it in guitar magazines back in the Philippines. Thanks Billy!

A rare amp people actually want would be a 7-series Vox as heard on Revolver, late 60's Stones, and Jimmy page supposedly has two.

SS front end into a tube output section, a bunch got thrown into a landfill by Vox which is now a parking lot in England.
