I have been GASing for a JVM 2x10 combo for a while now. recently a local music store had one 40% off. Like the month after I bought my gibson GA20RVT.

Either that video sucks or MArshall needs to put in a little more effort. Nice concept, I always wanted a DSL EL34 combo. This is not what I had in mind.

How do the JVM and Blackstar compare??

I am very happy with my HT-60 but do wonder sometimes about a JVM.. and if I'd be happier. The two main things I like are modern hi gain/heavy rock tones.. and versatility..

Well, here's a sample of me running my JVM through a 1960B cab and a Carvin Legacy cab. I boost the JVM with a Maxon OD808 (gain all the way off, Level cranked) to tighten the low end up a bit.

Sounded great. Having a V30 cab on one side, and something else on the other (75s in this case) didn't seem to hurt either.

It wasn't finished when I made the video, so I hooked the pickup directly to the output...

Now I go read some of the comments :lol

What I meant mainly is that they now have a 2 channel amp that compares with Blackstar in price if not in tone..

It sounds better than the MA amps, but it's not a Blackstar either.. It's a move in the right direction anyway..

                Beats a MG though.. LOL..

I wish they had the 40 watt in head version. I'm not really an opened back combo kind of guy.

Yep, they so nail that heavy driven without max gain sound. And a whole lot of others. I know its a knock off of the Timmy and I feel a bit guilty but its a keeper.

I played around with the new DSL15C the other day at work for a little bit...the basic tone of it isn't bad, but the "Ultra Gain" channel has WAY too much gain (with the gain at like 2, I couldn't roll off the guitar's volume and get an actual clean), and the "Classic Gain" channel didn't have enough...it was barely overdriven. Useless amp, IMO...but then, I'm used to Fryette dynamics
