    Hi guys,

I've PM'd you with the link to the beta mix - give it a listen and let me know what you think before general release. (Pretty sure I'm going to put the solos a bit further back in the morass, for starters...)

    Cheers

Sounds good Cap. That mp3 seems to be skipping or something, hope it's just the quality that's doing it, or maybe it's the beta version.

Yeah, there's a kind of glitch during your solo.

I think it's because my PC is underpowered to run cubase SX, and I get unforeseeable dropouts sometimes (although I didn't hear it on the wave mix...)
I used Wavelab to encode it, but I'll try another one next time...

      Bottom line =

Oh it sounds cool, but the skipping is a bit annoying. How much RAM do you have? I have a couple of extra 32bit chips here if you can use them, my computer is maxxed out. I had that problem until I upgraded my RAM.

I thought I'd posted the link in the PM to each of you - I've just PM'd you another one...

            Oops

Now isn't that just typical of this forum?

Really very kind of you, Smokes, and I appreciate the offer, although I'm not sure it's necessary. I've got a 333MHz Pentium 2, with 2 RAM slots that had 32Mb in each. I got hold of a 128Mb card, that I put in one of the slots, so I've got around 160Mb RAM all told, which should be sufficient, really.

The prob comes when the anti-virus goes on patrol, or whatever, I think, but being on DSL I'm not prepared to switch the AV off (although for mixing I could try unplugging the modem, then de-activating the AV suite...Hmm....)

Again, thanks for the kind offer - that's what makes this place so great...

Hey Cap I would try that if I was you, just unhook the modem. Also, you could get another 128bit chip for the other slot, that'll up ya to 256 and give ya better performance. They are cheap, I think I paid $25 a piece for mine(generic stuff).

I know that guys round here don't mind wanking like I do, but clipping & skipping drives everyone crazy.

Don't worry - I'll make sure it's as technically perfect as possible before posting a public link...
