  • Where is the missing pin?

I am asking everyone and anyone for help on this: I removed the Electro-Harmonix EL34's from an old amp and found that all the tubes had pin 8 missing. On the bottom of the tube was a hole where the pin should have been but I was stumped for an answer. Can anyone throw light on this; what kind of modification has been made? I am keen to know because this problem will make changing the tubes really interesting!
    Cheers in advance.

Don't worry, that's standard, they only use 7 pins.

Thanks for that. Is that standard on E-H's? I only ask because I just pulled the tubes on another amp and there are 8 pins on the tubes.
