I'm still waiting for the guitarist modeller

...soon they won't even need musicians to make music anymore...they'll just use voice and instrumentalist modellers and use some kind of 'lyric' generator, and boom, instant hit songs produced by a computer.

Oooh, I'm sure there's record company executives who are creaming their pants over that thought....

saddest part it, the masses probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference and would still shell out 18 bucks a pop for this epitomy of shallowness.

I have a Tom Waits Voice Modeler.

I just push a button, and it automatically pours 2 bottles of cheap scotch down my throat, lights up a pack of cigarettes, and keeps me awake until 4 AM.

Neat little box. I gave one just like it to my girlfriend, except hers was called a Janice Joplin Voice Modeler.

              She died! She died!
              Mom said she was sleeping
              She lied! She lied!"

A lyric generator is ridiculously easy to write. There have been a couple of computer generated novels, and I wrote a poetry/lyric generator years ago. It worked pretty well, too. I never used it for anything, it was just an experiment.

Just select that "chimpmunks" preset and adjust the presence a bit.

                    Har!

No reason to limit this to vocalists

                      Lucy Arnez
                      Homer Simpson
                      Ed Sullivan
                      Gilligan or the skipper
                      James T Kirk
                      Jack Nicholson
                      Rodney Dangerfield

my soundcard has a feature where i can chage the pitch from female to male and visa versa, and i can do +1 pitch, +2 pitch, -1 pitch, -2 pitch etc. it's really funny! it makes me sound like a big black dude! or the chipmunks! i would share, but i can't figure out how to save it like that.
