  • Anyone here into Battlestar Galactica?

The new season started last night and man this show just keeps getting better and better. I think it's the best drama on TV right now. The sci-fi channel really has done a great job with this one.
I'd like to be your friend, but you keep locking me out of your house.

    Oh.

I thought you meant the giant trophy house my neighbor built next door. "Battlestar Galactica" is our pet name for it.

F*** 'em if they can't take a joke!

Actually, I don't like the premise of the series:

"There are those who believe... that life here... began out there. Far across the universe. With tribes of humans... who may have been the forefathers of the Egyptians... or the Toltecs... or the Mayans... that they may have been the architects of the Great Pyramids... or the lost civilizations of Lemuria... or Atlantis... Some believe that there may yet be brothers of man... who even now fight to survive... somewhere beyond the heavens."

I guess I'm a spoilsport - it's just a TV show, right? Just flow with it, Bob.

No, the ancestors of all us humans were from right here on earth. The idea that "Egyptians... or the Toltecs... or the Mayans" couldn't have originated their own civilizations goes back to 19th Century racist ideas that only Europeans had the capacity to accomplish high civilizations.

Still, I guess you can enjoy the show without buying into the premise. But I wouldn't know, since I don't have a TV.

Wow that's a long way to go only to end at "I don't have a TV"

I liked BG as a kid in the 70, but really like the new version. Got hooked on it year and have caught all but one episode so far. Thought this season's opener was great.

I only watched the SciFi Channel for Stargate-SG1

I refuse to watch it anymore

I have four of 'em (necessary when all the kids are here) and it seems like I spend a lot of time looking for something to watch.

I liked the first couple of seasons.

We cut cable back to the basic 15 & don't get Scifi any more. The DVDs are on my Christmas wish-list. I can have a whole season of BSG with no commercials for the price of one month of "expanded cable".

Been watching every season. I thought this seasons opener was pretty cool.

I finished watching it yesterday and I've got to say that it is one very fine written and acted show. It way better than any other show or movie the SciFi channel has produced. With the excection of Ghost Hunters which they really have no input on. I hope it doesn't start to get predictable though.

Have you watched the "webisodes" on the BSG website? I just found them but haven't seen them yet. I think they are a kind of bridge between season 2 & season 3.

My Tivo dumped the seaosn opener B4 I got to see it. I never should have taught the kids how to set up a season pass, because I now have 238 episodes of Spongebob Squarepants.

(which is fine except that it dumped BSG)
It doesn't matter if it's broken or not, take it apart and fix it anyway.
