    My collection:

Strat is soon to have a set of Duncan Lipsticks.
Epi has been modded: Tremolo is blocked to work like a regular strat vibrato (down only) Pickups were replaced with a Benedetto A6 in the neck and a Fralin High Output in the Bridge
Gibson has had the Gold Hardware replaced with Faber aged nickel, even the Klusons have been replaced with aged nickel an antique Butterscotch Klusons (instead of the GREEN ones that came with it). I may replace the pickups with a set of Duncan Antiquity Mini Hums I have lying around (What do you guys think about that?)

fab, looks like you tried to 'Gretsch-isize' your Ibanez Artcore...how did that turn out? btw, the black Gretsch... I can't tell you how many times I was going to get one, but didn't...I think what stops me is the cost of replacing the p-ups with TV Jones'... (which is next on my list of upgrades on my 'custom pseudo-Gretsch)
Time and weather permitting, I will shoot a new family portrait over this weekend and post my collection of black and brown instruments...and black and blonde amps.

What is that little amp with the dogbone handle? Looks kind of like an old Harmony I had many years ago...

            Daddymack,

first off you 've got a great eye. It's a Harmony H400a -- can't be more than a couple watts. But the sound is pretty cool - nothing clean, goes from a bit of dirt to really trashy.

The Ibanez AF-75 already recalled a White Falcon just a bit. I got a custom pickguard and added GFS Retrotron Nashville pickups and Gretsch gold knobs. I really like it! I can't say it's much like a White Falcon in reality, but it's my "White Trash Falcon"!

The thing about the Gretsch on the left is that you don't have to change the pickups - it's a 5125 (no longer sold) that comes with DeArmond 2000 pickups. MUCH Gretschier than the stock mini-hums on the 5120.

Oh, fab, I know my amps...
the H400 is like 3 or 4 watts, IIRC, with that trashy little 8" speaker...sounds so good cranked out to about 7-8, then full out it just gets garbage disposal tone
I originally had it for practice, then tried playing harmonica through it I sold minr to a harp player friend...
I knew those were the DeArmonds, btw...when those 5125 Electromatics first came out, I tried one out at the Fender booth at the NAMM show and fell in love...just never could seem to pull teh trigger...as tempted as I was. Whe nthe ywent to teh HBs, I lost interest, and had mine built for me at the factory in China that was making them...strange story...anyway, they couldn't legally make me a 'Gretsch', so we had to make some wiring modifications...and used basswood in lieu of the maple they use...
I actually put a GFS Nashville (neck)and a GFS Liverpool (bridge) on my pseudo-Gretsch as well...but I still lust for the TVJs...they will cost me more than the rest of the guitar and mods I've already done.
see post#19 for the 'as originally built' version...

Very cool that you had the guitar made to your specs! I see you got f-hole binding - nice! How is the Nashville/Liverpool set treating you?

I was surprised, as I had heard some negative stuff on the Liverpools, but in the bridge, they have a very nice bite with some edgy ring. Since I generally play the neck and mid positions most of the time with my band, I didn't notice any issues, and the Nashville sounds pretty good, nice growl, and they have a very interestingly 'old P90-ish/pre-war single coil/overwound' kind of thing going on (think Charlie Christian tone), which is pretty much what I was after with the GFS p-us. And they look good.
Of course in the midst of all this Gibson/Epi comes out with their swingbuckers (seen the new Broadway model?)...I wanted to test drive one of them at NAMM, but it was too damned crowded in there (plus, they wouldn't have had my amp of preference )

After seeing the BSO a few year back, I know nothing sounds like TVJs except TVJs...and I'm not planning on dropping 4 big ones on a high-end Gretsch any time soon

I agree, I preferred the Nashvilles all around to the Liverpools.

speaking of p-ups...what year is that Gibson Lester? I would leave the soapbars...they take time to really 'warm in'...something about the way the coils accumulate patina, I guess...but newer soapbars always sound more brittle than aged ones...
I think it would actually make more sense to put on something like Fralin soapbars (but I think they only offer black...I was looking at their dogears a while ago to put on my SG), as for some reason they tend to sound warmer, with the P-90 growl and attack intact, right out of the box, more than the Gibson USAs...IMHO, of course
