Members slushpup96
[video=youtube;SDTZ7iX4vTQ] The song is called Pumped Up Kicks by Foster the People. Around 0:39, you can see him singing into some weird microphone to get this kind of strange effect. What is this called/What is he doing? Thanks

Never heard of a mic condenser in my life...learning something here...however if you meant a condenser microphone you would be incorrect in saying that this is what causes this effect... He appears to be singing through a harmonica microphone like the "green bullet' from shure wich happens to be dynamic and not a condenser...singers use this through a guitar amp to get that modulated sound. The effect itself can be achieved by many vocal processors and have many names and parameters, from "megaphone" to "lo-fi", all depending on the unit you like to use. Singing through a "bullet" mic works well live and looks cool! That and a megaphone onstage (Derek????) Rod
Members rodclement
Oh and hear is the mic I think is being used in the video and on stage...note the "low fi" use for vocals note on the description... http://www.shure.com/americas/products/microphones/classic/520dx_green_bullet_harmonica_microphone Rod
