I actually like it when you start in your lower register like that and then move confidently into your comfort zone. You sound wonderful in this song, dear. Pretty cool instrumentation as well. I had to look up on youtube who Karen Carpenter was (at first I was thinking of Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, lol), but after watching a few of her videos, I definitely hear a resemblance in both of your styles.
