Members Lucy12908
Ok so im really confused about my voice type as I have seen a lot of contradicting things online so I was just hoping someone could clear it up for me but: I am female and I can comfortably sing F3-A5. I can go higher (highest I’ve managed to squeeze out is D6) but it sounds bad and I cant support or sustain it for more than a second, I find it a lot easier to sing at the higher end of my range, and the lower end is a little shaky and off. I prefer using head voice to chest voice and it sounds better for me. Im not really sure what I am but I was thinking maybe a higher mezzo? What do you guys think? Moderators davie Posted December 17, 2017 Moderators Share Posted December 17, 2017 Hi Lucy,It's hard to say without hearing you sing. A lot of determining voice type is based on vocal timbre. Vocal range might play a role but its not the total picture. The voice timbre and vocal register transition plays are more important I think. It is also pretty common for majority of female voices to be head voice dominant. What kind of music do you sing?
