Members choski2
I went to a voice teacher for a while several years ago to learn to sing pop style with a classical foundation. It seems like sometimes when I sing, I feel like my sing sounds a little classical in some parts. I'd like to sing more in a pop style. Does anyone think they could give me a few tips or advice on how to do this?

Moderators davie Posted May 25, 2017 Moderators Share Posted May 25, 2017 To make your singing sound more "pop style" you can try to enunciate more in a conversational style. And also use a bit less of an open throat. In classical singing the open throat is usually taken to its fullest with very high soft palate combined with a low larynx. To get a more pop sound go for more moderate open throat instead.

I hadn't thought of this. I hope this might be my problem. I'll try with a more moderate open throat. 1001gear: RnB-ish pop/Pop.
