Post Tracheostomy: Is it possible to get my voice back?

A couple of years ago during surgery, there were complications and as a result of it I was put on a ventilator. After a couple of months the Tracheostomy tube was successfully removed but left me with a low end, gravelly, and extremely weak voice. I know, at first one might think, wow, a blues voice. No mine is more like Ozzy straining his voice and drinking for 2 days straight, only another register lower.

Does anyone have any coaching experience in this area? Is it even possible to get my voice back? Any thoughts and/or suggestions would be truly appreciated.

Thanks,

Gary

Hope you mean otomy.

Sorry for my ignorance. The surgeon referred to it as simply a "Trach". I'm going to have to get in touch with him. I will also have to do a little research for the difference. Regardless, I'm hoping my voice isn't like this forever. Thanks for making me aware of this.
