Remedies and maintenance ?

The best remedy is to prevent wear and tear in advance. Avoid oversinging by using good vocal support. Learn to cut back the air, and use good cord closure to keep from drying out the cords.

If you have congestion, you can put a couple of drops of Tea Tree oil in some steaming water and gently inhale the vapors. That will help open you up.

Have a great monitor system or In-ear monitors, to also help you to avoid over-stressing your voice. A bad monitor mix will kill your voice. You can't possibly outsing amplified instruments, if you can't hear your monitors.

All the Best!

1. stay hydrated, especially when you sing. Lots of water.

2. warm up well before singing, I find singing in falsetto to ease the voice.

3. if sick, rest as much as possible and avoid singing if not neccesary.

4. work on your vocal technique, vocal coach, books, DVDs etc..
