  • Music software for netbooks?

Granted, you probably can't run a full-blown DAW on a Netbook, at least not at the moment. But can you at least run a sequencer and simple softsynths/softsamplers? Do you think any audio interface companies will ever make audio drivers for Netbooks?

I only ask this because netbooks are WAY more affordable than laptops...

Actually there were threads over on the Reaper board that guys were having some success running Reaper on netbooks. You should check those out.

Thanks. Though I'm not at all interested in running a DAW on a netbook, but rather a sequencer and software synths/samplers for live use.

        And it would do that.

(a DAW and a sequencer running softsynths/samplers is the same thing...)

          Energy XT is another option.

Forget EnergyXT. Reaper offers more, doesnt really tax the CPU any more and is less expensive.

It will host soft synths, has a sequencer (though its a no frills liner type that is so common today - no subsequences or song segments, chainable patterns, etc. (yet). You can get your head around it fairly quickly.
