It will probably help a bit, but why not use the iMac as you main machine and the Powerbook as a node?

What processor is in the Powerbook?

You might want to look at one of the MacIntel minis, you can have a node between PPC and Intel.

I have an assortment of Macs but my G5 20" Imac (2 Gigs of Ram) is one fine-assed machine with loads of horsepower...

Node must be either G5 or Intel. G4 is not supported by Logic Node.

Lot's of people are using G4 minis as nodes via the firewire method.

Not sure if the intel node is a different animal.

I wish anyway. Macs hold thier value way more than I would like,on Ebay anyway.

Macs cost more for a reason - it keeps the script kiddies away
