  • Basic Recording Software for ibook

I have an ibook 500mhz with 384 mb ram. I am going to be getting a m-audio mobile pre and some mics so i can do some basic recording. What is a good software to start with? I am new to recording so simplicity would be nice and a low price tag wouldnt hurt either. What do you think is the best choice?

Ive been happily running Logic Audio 6.3 on a 400mhz G4. Getting plenty of tracks and plugins. plus if things get slow, you can "freeze" tracks. Awesome tool. I cant remember what they call the new Logic "lite" , but mine was from the big box deal for $300. Using m-audio 2496 for interface.

once I maxed out the Ram, I was golden.
