  • Hard disc recording: So a 1/2 second brown out can destroy hours and hour of work ..

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Are there any solutions to keep continuous power to a hard disc recorder during a blackout or brown out such as some type of seamless switching ?

I'm already plugged into a battery backup surge protector (triplite), but apparently there is a notch in the switch over which is enough to destroy the hard drive.

My recorder is a Alesis HD24. I do back ups, but got lazy and lost a bunch of work. Man, I'm bummed.

    UPS - uninterruptable power supply

You essentially run on a rechargeable battery feeding an inverter that makes wall power.
Since you are always running on the battery there can be no stopping the power.
