Members beennj613
I own guitars, bass, painos, harmonicas, recorders but the one type of instrument i have never layed my hands on are brass/reed instruments. Can anyone recomend a really cheap single reed instrument? I have looked into getting a xaphoon pocket sax but i don't think they have enough notes. Thanks-Ben
Members Dyoes
Hey Ben, There are some great affordable woodwind brands like Allora and Etude. What instrument were you looking to start with? The fingerings for sax/flute/clarinet are very similar and you could transition from one to the other fairly easy. Check out some of these links: http://www.wwbw.com/Etude-EAS-100-Student-Alto-Saxophone-463675-i1412687.wwbw http://www.wwbw.com/Allora-Student-Series-Alto-Saxophone-Model-AAAS-301-585010-i1513495.wwbw http://www.wwbw.com/Allora-Student-Series-Bb-Clarinet-Model-AACL-336-585013-i1513500.wwbw Hope this helps! -Dustin
Members Notes_Norton
Clarinet is more difficult as it doesn't work in octaves like sax and flute. Sax and flute are more like recorder fingering. You can also get a Yamaha WX5 and use synth sounds - but not all synths will give you good results.
