  • Bought Myself A Hohner Marine Band Harmonica

    Now what?

I've always wanted to learn how to play harmonica.... the Marine Band came with a song I'll start there. The song? "When The Saints Start Marchin'in"

My goal was/is to be "Campfire Good".

What's "campfire good"? I've been around some campfires where the players were pretty good.

So if that is "campfire good"...and that is my goal...Then I guess I'll stick to "candle good" until I improve...

    Good start!

Are you looking to play blues or rock? If so, I'm assuming you started out w/ a "C" harp, so play to a blues backing in "G", as you'll be playing "crossed", to get the blue notes. "Crossed" is always the 5th step above whatever key the harmonica is tuned to.

OTOH, if you're more interested in folk or country, you'll primarily play to backing in "C" (or whatever key your harmonica is tuned to).

Does that make sense? If not, PM me and I'll try to explain better.
God(s) bless the rest of the world(s), too
