Members Daisy C
I play the upright bass and I don't see anything on the Folk & Traditional forum about basses. Acoustic, doghouse, upright, double.. whatever. You know, those big old things you have to plan which vehicle to buy to haul it around in.... that hold the beat for the rest of the band. Mine is a 1949 Kay M1B Ser # 21872. My back-up bass is a 1941 Kay Concert Ser. # 9231. There are many different manufacturers of basses out there and I don't know much about any of them! But if you have a Kay, an Englehart, King or American Standard, a good website for information, determining the age, etc. of your bass can be found here: http://www.kaybass.com. (Admin note: I have amended the title and this can be the thread in the Folk/Traditional Forum to discuss upright bass - as relative to the these genres of music)
Members Dendy Jarrett
Ms. Daisy: We do have a bass forum is here: http://www.harmonycentral.com/forum/...ss/acapella-17 However, we can make this thread about that Upright Bass as it relates to Old Time, BlueGrass, Folks or traditional music genres of instrumentation. Thanks D
