I'm going to watch my kid open presents and then get good and drunk before the inlaws show up. Once they get here, I will most likely retreat into the basement and sleep it off on my weight bench.

My wife is in the Bahamas right now visiting the oldest daughter and the grandkids for Christmas. She will be home Friday.

We spend Christmas Eve at the youngest daughter's house. Its usually a good time with lots of presents and alcohol and poker.

We spend Christmas Day at the in-laws. They are 87 and 81 years old, so I get to hear the same stories I heard from them last Christmas.

The sons will arrive at our house on Christmas night and we will do presents and alcohol and poker on the day after Christmas.

Funny how some threads are perennial. Even funnier how i just booked my Christmas flights last week. Yeah, the usual ten days in a single bed at my parents house. Oh joy...

Why I bother to post this, though.... heh.

There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge." - Isaac Asimov, Newsweek (21 January 1980)

We were going to my inlaws, but I have been having to burn up vactation time to wathc the kids while my wife goes to class, so we will probably just go to my folks.
