There's no guitar player, but The Dresden Dolls put on one of the best shows I've seen in a long time when I saw them open for J. Mascis.

How about some local flavor from Portland, ME? My guitar teacher/sister's fiance is the drummer in Covered In Bees. A blend of old metal and hardcore. Amazing musical talent on all fronts. They have a radio show worth of MP3s linked on their main page with records coming this year under Hellcat Records (Rancid's label). Check them out at Covered in Bees!

Sigur Ros might be one of them that might be cool if you like the chamberpop/spacerock thing. The cool thing is that all the lyrics are in Icelandic(?) so if you are inclined to sing along, you get to make up your own lyrics!!!

I got lots of their first album

I like pretending they're talking about being a mime then I mime out stuff, especially fun when outside with your walkman and watching people run from you

If you don't mind Christmas music, Trans Siberian Orchestra is cool.
