    Tygers of Pan Tang.

The best thing about NWBHM was that it gave older bands like Gillan, Whitesnake (before they got ****************e) and UFO etc a bit of a boost so they toured and made records more than they otherwise might have done. I did go and see a few of them back in the day but they mostly weren't really my thing.

their cover of "love potion number 9" is pretty good though I reckon ...

I loved all that stuff, it was practically my whole life back then ...a lot of **************** bands for sure, I just remembered White Spirit, Jannick Gers old band ..saw them supporting Gillan and coudn't believe that Gillan got him in to replace Bernie Torme!.

I'm pretty sure I saw Gillan on that tour. They were ace. As were Whitesnake with Mickey Moody and Bernie Marsden and also UFO who I think I've seen more times than any other band because they used to tour so often. Aaaaahh, great days, great days.

I am not ashamed to say that Whitesnake on the "come and get it" tour, was one of the best gigs I've ever been to..they were just fantastic..the whole hammy odeon singing "ain't no love in the heart of the city" was just spine-tingling.

back then, I loved Whitesnake so much, that I actually chose to see them over Van Halen...1979 I think..they were touring "lovehunter" playing at Hammersmith and Van Halen were playing at the Rainbow the same night..little did I know that VH would hardly play in the UK ever again.

I'd have chosen that era Whitesnake over Van Halen any day. It sounds like we went to the same tours. I went to see Whitesnake on the Come and Get it tour. Twice.
