So, in a way; a Frito pie is a variation of a fried Quesadilla...

    Saludos.

Well, once they are all mushed up in your stomach I reckon there isn't much difference.

Maybe I'll order a quesadilla at La Tapatia tonight... hmmm...

Just mentioned this to the gf, she never heard of them either. We're making one this weekend, then probably have one fierce dutch oven that night.

Get good chili. Or make your own.

Yeah, I can't imagine Wendy's chili working too well in a Frito pie.

I used to love Cattle Drive Chili that you could get at Costco, but It was recalled once, and I have yet to see it back there. I also have yet to find a brand of canned chili that I like as much.

Brilliant! I didn't want to resort to Hormel. As a fellow Harrisburger I've never heard of the Frito Pie. But I think I love it already. 1drummer and I will dine on Frito Pie TONIGHT!

it should be more gravy like.

wolf chili is ideal but probably wouldn't find it outside texas. i don't remember what it's called but there is a concoction made by fritolay exactly for that purpose. comes in a little can.

Apparently this is an exact science requiring the proper ingredients, you can't just throw a Frito pie together all willy nilly.

                            I just typed willy nilly.

Hmm My favorite no-bean chili in a can is Hormel's. Great for chili dogs. I like putting chopped onions and cheese on there.

diced onions work good on a frito pie too, if you're getting fancy.
